Minding my own business, got the t-tops off, and up pulls this Maxima. Second to last gen, I think. Anyway, this fool has on these ghetto chrome rims with rubber bands on them, gold trim, and some kinda exhaust. Mighta had a wing, but I don't remember. He keeps blipping forward trying to get me to go, but I'm ignoring him. Just cruising along at 40 in 4th, listening to the nice resonance coming from the mufflers. He's next to me in the right lane. Anyway, I start to approach a pickup in my lane, maybe block away. SO, I slow down to let the Ghettomax go by so I can go around the truck. Fool slows down. I speed up, he speeds up. I slow down, he slows down. Asshole. I'm starting to approach the truck, so I say, enough of this shit. Still doin 40 in 4th, drop it straight down to 2nd and floor it. Hit the powerband perfectly. Glanced in the mirror to make sure the Ghettomax didn't try to run so I can move over. Look back to make the lane change, and HOLY SHIT THE TRUCK IS CLOSE!. Made it over just fine and let off. I looked down and I was doing 80. Sheeyut I love 2nd gear :-) May not have turbos, but its still fun. Anyway, I looked in my mirror, Ghettomax just slowed down. He left me alone the whole rest of the time. Cranked up the tunes and cruised the rest of the way home. Life is good.
